Front page article in the Seattle Times today about gun control ideas being considered for the next legislative session. On the list, establishment of "gun free" zones. Ammunition "regulation." Banning the sale of magazines over 10 round capacity.

We could see the ammunition "regulation" idea coming. It's already in force in California. Anything bad that California goes for will shift north sooner or later. Of course this is just a proprosal at this time, only sketchy details being discussed. Like keeping ammunition out of the hands of felons. And requiring anyone selling ammo who isn't already an FFL dealer to get a license to sell same. Also mentioned was a "voluntary" system of reporting large quantity ammo sales. One pol said, "...if someone comes in to buy 1,000 rounds, I would be worried."

Well, most of my acquaintances who are gun people would be in that worrisome category.

The form that ammunition "regulation" took in California is that anyone who buys it must do the background check thing. Any purchases made online must be shipped to a California dealer for completion of the transaction. Anyone who wants to sell ammo must get a license.

So Washingtonians, my advice would be to start adjusting your inventory now according to your desires. If you don't want to get "stuck" with a lot of ammo on hand, start selling. If you think you need more without government supervision, buy more.

The magazine ban is also murky at this point. We don't know if it will be a complete ban or a ban on sale.

This is all the more reason we need to push the recall of 1639. Turning 1639 back on itself would be a very strong message and give our side momentum it's sorely lacking presently.

And Washatonians need to wake up and start to vote OUT these parasites that are in office!

This is all bound to come to Oregon soon as well. They're pushing the gun storage bill as of right now but there are so many nutcase activists here who "WaNt MiLiTaRy WeApOnZ oF WaR oFf ThE sTrEeTz!" they'll push the AWB/mag cap ban every session especially with loonies like Kate Brown in office who put the wind in their sails.

I picked up 1600 rds the other day at Wal-Mart's clearance. The sales guy made a joke about not wanting to break into my house. Lol. Screw them. I am already on all the lists. Gonna keep buying a case or two at a time.

Nothing but good advice here.

And for God's sake, get active and get the vote out Support the anti 1639 lawsuits and 1039 initiative!!

Don't give up. Tell your friends and neighbors why these policies have proven to be failures in Chicago and every place the big government Democrats have tried them. We defeated these bills last year, write your representatives and tell them that we are not giving up our freedoms for the Democrats' "feel good" anti-freedom campaign.

This!

There's enough people who don't vote, approximately 50% of those able to vote, who don't vote for whatever reason. Turn them into gun owning voters and problem solved.

It's not likely though.

What is likely is more Dims in office there, and more gun control.

The story...

If you don't like the story above, wait till Laurie Jinkins heads up as speaker of the house. Boss brought it up the 1st of August..

In light of what's probably going to be taking place with the anti-gun cr*p, be sure to take the time to write your legislators and voice your opinion. Before you chastise me over that, or they won't listen, saying nothing/doing nothing is virtually the same as giving them permission to charge ahead and acknowledging/supporting their biased opinion!

Words to live by ...Martin Niemöller: "First they came for the socialists..."
Google it if you don't know it. Just saying..

Dan

Agree 100%.

Every last one of us needs to be emailing and writing. It takes no real time or effort. Hearing from enough of us will make some of them uncomfortable.
Stop making excuses.

The anti's protest, riot, rally, boycott, make calls, send letters, petition, etc. They darn well make themselves heard.

The Anti's show up and put in the work. We make excuses and lose.

While the writing is good, it will do zero if we stay as it is now. All these gun laws go in because a HUGE portion of the gun owning public just does not care. Every new law that goes in a lot of the owners have no clue it happened. Until it inconveniences them. Then they blame the NRA who they of course never joined. A LOT of gun owners are all in on compromise. The idea being as long as their gun is left alone. The only thing that changes law makers is losing their job. City of Tacoma had a HUGE turn out against the new ammo and gun tax. Anyone see how much good it did? As in zero, they passed it anyway. Because they figure they will still win next election so they give the middle finger to those who write them. There is supposed to be something like 100 Million gun owners in this Country. If say 80% of them started to vote single issue? You would see anti gun politicians waving pro gun signs like kissing babies. They would still not believe what they were saying but, to keep their job? They would about face on this garbage. Since they win no matter what, why would they care if gun owners get mad. Too many of them don't bother to vote.

I pretty much agree with your statement. But, at the same time, it kinda sounds like an excuse not to speak out and send that email.

Emailing/writing/calling isnt going to solve our problems. But it is a piece to the puzzle and it's a good exercise.

I think once you already have 10K+ rounds of .22rim fire close to that in CF ammo and the making for another 10K rounds of CF ammo they should be good with waving the tax.

This crap is so stupid if I have a single round of ammo I can use it illegally. If I own one firearm what good does this crap do?

It's beyond stupid - it has become a bizarre obsession with the antis completely lacking in reason or intellect.

We are no longer fighting anti gun issues - we are at war with a fake preoccupation of ideas and beliefs that are completely nonsensical and are nothing more than ideas and followings of people who are so bored with life and have no sense of 'self' they need to align themselves and 'identify' with a cause - and that being gun control.

How do you become so 'satisfied' and secure in your own life you feel comfortable stepping out to actively protest something that has a historically rooted reality in the development of the country you live in?

If I am missing something please fill me in!
