Would it be helpful to have a sticky thread where people could post the prices they actually paid for ammo, exact type of ammo, location it was purchased, etc?

Rather than a "Bi-Mart has ammo on sale" type of thread, I'm thinking something more basic so people can get a sense of current market prices. No chit-chat, just the facts so people can scan the thread for quick info.

Something like this:

9mm, 124gr, American Eagle, 50rnds, $12.99, Ben's Loan, Renton, WA
.223, 55gr, PMC Bronze, 20rnds, $7.99, Ben's Loan, Renton, WA

I think it would also be important to include where you bought it (City & State) as prices on ammo in Portland may be irrelevant to us folks in Seattle.

Thoughts?

That is a good idea. It'd be nice to have a "cheat sheet" to reference when shopping either online, in the local stores, or at the gun shows. :s0155:

In fact, maybe add at the end of the "quote" the price per round... like this:

9mm, 124gr, American Eagle, 50rnds, $12.99, Ben's Loan, Renton, WA - $0.2598/round
.223, 55gr, PMC Bronze, 20rnds, $7.99, Ben's Loan, Renton, WA - $0.3995/round

Price Gouging or Opportunities...

WE as responsible owners, shooters, reloaders, and most of all as CONSUMERS, are able to CHOOSE: WHAT, WHERE, HOW MANY OR MUCH, WE want or able to consume...

If you (we) Want something, pricing may restrain oneself from purchasing. If you (we) NEED something, PRICING is almost unimportant. For instantance: You need 4 tires on your vehicle to hold air. If you need air, and don't have a can of air, can of instant flat fix, AAA card, spare tire w/jack and the ware-with-all to fix the tire, you may pay almost anything to get the tire fixed or filled with air... The same holds true with firearms, ammunition and reloading supplies.

THUS, PREACHING: DO NOT PAY THE HIGH PRICES, IS ONE'S OWN CHOICE. Trying to project ONE's opinion here, is like asking some of us not to advertize to help others who may or might need something we have to offer. I have over the past month have SOLD off some of my collection of reloading supplies and hardware to help my Daughter buy a home. The sale/purchase of her home completed this past Friday. I SINCERELY WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY PERSON WHO HELPED ME MAKE THIS DREAM FOR MY DAUGHTER, her husband and family come true. All who purchased something from me have either purchased hard to find items or got very fair deals. This is a great forum for such activity and such think we need to appreciate the power of such forms and the internet. Many have not contributed to help sustain this board and as such should consider doing so.

I believe that FREEDOM is not FREE, that WE must defend the 2nd Amendment, thru all possible resources and avenues to keep our GUN Rights. I believe we need to DEFEND our right to A FREE market place economy the very same way.

These are my beliefs, and opinions, I hope others feel the same way and would not follow those who believe we must all Share from the bottom upward. The LIBERALS want to take away our FREEDOMS and RIGHTS, and make us dependent upon them and their ways. IT's Called SOCIALISM. I Like freedom, and have faithfully served this nation, it's military and will continue to defend my and our Right's. After all, it's still my choice.

I would suggest making an individual sticky for each caliber so you don't have to do tons of searches.

I was actually thinking that I'd compile the results into a spread sheet or something and post them. But, there doesn't seem to be much interest in this idea thus far. It's probably easier for users to just post ammo updates in individual threads.
