I feel like I'm losing here.
So with that said.
I can reload 9mm for 2 cents a round.
It's totally easy.
I cast/coat 9mm and the best I can do is .05 a round but in answer to the Op there is no harm in shooting alluminium case ammo if you have no interest in reloading.I would avoid steel case not because of the case but because often the jackets are copper washed steel which can wear out a barrel exponentially faster than lead or copper jacketed bullets.
As for start up cost for reloading the equipment when I started I was shooting about 100 .45 a week and the savings over factory ammo for a year was about exactly what the full bundled Dillon 650 with scale and everything you need would cost.
