BiMart always has them, metal and plastic - brand new. They go on sale for a couple weeks now and then.

Harbor Freight. 5 bucks per the smaller plastic ones. Work great.

I just picked up a new 50 cal. metal can from AIMsurplus. $15 ea. but you do pay shipping so.... I bought some ammo, so I just threw in an ammo can. I ordered four of them last year for a friend and everything was good to go. They still smell like paint lol.

Yeah, i've found BiMart to be about the best, no shipping (obviously) and they have the MTM case guard 50 cals for just $10, they also have the shell boxes nice and cheap too.

I've seen the Blackhawk metal ammo cans at Bimart for $20+ most of the time. It sucks even ammo cans are increasing in price :(

Board member "Ammocansales" is who you're thinking of. Haven't seen a post from him lately, try sending a PM maybe.
