I don't doubt if that madman had a sword or machete and carried out the attack more people would have died. At least with a gun he could kill himself, whereas with a long edge weapon he would have just kept killing until the police came (7 minutes later). Children are very vulnerable and defenseless targets.
If I knew how to post pictures I would. Again. I don't have many guns but I do Have a few. I'll figure it out soon enough. Just for u Dfuller. Also if i don't own a gun why would my last post I made be asking a question about a round i had stuck in MY ar?

Thats referred to as a negligent discharge. Cleaning a gun and it goes off and shoots a testicle off? Thats a negligent discharge. Have a hammer gun (whether its a revolver or a hammerd semi auto) and it goes and shoots a round when you accidently drop it on the hardwood floor, even though it has the mag out but a round still in the chamber? Thats a negligent discharge too.
no there not accidents they are negligent collisions they were preventable.
no not my words that is what people call them they are negligent discharges they are preventable. and there are more homicides by knives , fist, bat's, rocks. so why pick on guns instead of the perp. doing the deed
like I've heard people say before why go after McDonnell's? the fork made me fat it put the food in my mouth
ok, but its still called in your own words " an accidental discharge" it is caused by people who are not paying attention or are focused on other things, just like when people are driving and they are changing their CD or eating some french fries and they crash their car into a tree.
its still a car accident. I dont think people wanted to wreck their cars, just like no one means to shoot themself with an accidental discharge.
accidents are preventable i totally agree with you. but they are accidents. im sure there is many more homicides my guns then cars.
I've had a weapon slam fire when I let the bolt fly. The only thing hurt was the pavementNo, but NOT keeping the weapon pointed in a safe direction while chambering a round IS negligent. I'm glad that no one was hurt.
Squidly, why do u ask?
4Freedom, the whole lets ban cars bit is just lame. everyone knows its lame.
99% of deaths by cars are accidents (im guessing 99% but we all know its very high percent)
the same is not to be said about gun deaths. And just because someone (in this case me) may not fully agree with how u want the world ran dont make me a troll, Thats like saying Obama has been the president for the past 4 years who ever is going to try to run against him is a troll because they may have some different thoughts on some issues.
u call it trolling, i call it free speach.....
No need to compare America to 3rd world country's... I thought we were beyond that
My family is from Belarus too, (Mogilev) and shared with with us similar stories about being without arms. Then later the Commies did the same thing to their own people because they knew the threat of an armed society. Those that joined the Revolution and after their success were stripped of their firearms as well.
These politicians need to leave our 2A alone and address the issues of mentally disturbed people Directly.
I'm all for keeping guns away from the mentally disturbed.
The question is, how?

A Land Without Guns: How Japan Has Virtually Eliminated Shooting Deaths - Max Fisher - The Atlantic
i read the artical. not going to post my thoughts as they are most likely the same as most of yours, but is there anyone here that thinks the united states should adress our 200+ plus year old laws?
How do you explain murder rates in countries with very restrictive gun laws, like Russia for example? Statistics show they have a homicide rate over twice that of the U.S.
