It occurred to me that some of you here might care to see how the British people look after the Americans who never went home. Madingley, the location of the only US War Graves Commission cemetery in UK, has almost 4000 members of the US Armed Forces, mostly aircrew, buried here. Another 5000 more are commemorated on the Wall of Remembrance. There is one Foley in a grave, and another on the wall.

I go here every July 4th to remember our son, who died on the same date, and the two other sons whose families never got to see them again, too. As you can imagine, it really is a bitter-sweet day.
