Plan to contact your senators on Sunday after the mag ban passes the house too. Yes, it will pass the house but you need to overflow your reps phones anyway because that will help our case in the senate where we can win and kill HB 2240.

TALKING POINTS FOR MAG BAN:

- The 15 round "compromise" is NOT acceptable and JUST AS BAD as 10! You have to mention this! (Please comment on the updated bill HERE Washington State Legislature - Public Bill Comments)

- Essentially all modern firearms use >10/15 round magazines.

- WA has no systems in place whatsoever to register existing magazines.

- Owners have to PROVE that they owned the magazines before the ban, which is impossible and essentially criminalizes 10s of thousands of WA gun owners.

- Washington state law enforcement mass shootings work group explicitly DID NOT recommend a mag ban or AWB.

- CA ban is being challenged in the 9th circuit in April, why pass a law that has at least a ~50% chance of being immediate struck down during a short session when time is crucial? There are more important bills.

- https://www.waspc.org/assets/docs/Mass% ... sed%20File).pdf Massive publicly funded Washington police study on mass shootings that found mag bans to be TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE. Feel free to attach this to your emails and bring it up during calls.

Example text:

This sessions onslaught of gun control legislation listed below will immediately affect over 40% of all Washington households and criminalize common firearm configurations that 30% of Democrat and 58% Republican leaning households own.

These bills do nothing to address, prevent or punish criminal activity but do severely limit the ability of Washington residents to legally defend themselves against the 40,000 to 50,000 violent acts committed every year in Washington.

During my errands this morning I asked the local proprietors if they had emailed our representatives to oppose it, and they have. Even if you already voiced opposition, encourage others to do so also.

This whole west coast is infected. Worse then coronavirus. Put a wall around CA and deport those to said CA that are making it hard to be a law abiding citizen.

Sent email to all in above list, got this back in just a matter of seconds,
Thank you for your email. I have stepped down from my House seat - if you would like to have a meeting with the current Representative from the 40th LD, please email [email protected] with your preferred date & time.
Just got this back from Reb Brian Blake "
I will strongly oppose gun control! Brian"

It only takes a minute to cut and paste the list. ;)

Then forward a copy of what you've done to your mailing list. :)

*** It must work. I got two robot responses right away.

*** Positive Real Person response from Brian Blake. :)

E-mails sent, but will not have any effect (my representatives and senator are Democrat anti-gun-owner bigots in Olympia). We can try to slow things down, but the tide is moving against us in Washington. Brace yourselves for having to wait on future Supreme Court rulings.

By all means, it is important to slow down the tide, so if go ahead and contact your legislators even if they are anti-gun-owner-bigots. It is also important to notify your legislators that you reject their bigotry.

Thanks for the update. I will continue to compose a new email to all senators and representatives every day.

Washington is one battle in a national war being fought over the 2A. It is imperative that we, even in blue states, put up as much of a fight as possible. In the best case we can preserve our rights, in the worst case we force anti-2A tyrants to expend time, money and effort that can't then be spent in other states while we wait for battles in the courts to play out.

I've sent email to all but will do no good. They are liberal sluts bought and paid for by antigun groups and progressive ignorance. The courts are our only hope.

Pro Tips:

Yahoo will pop up a message telling you to shorten the list. Just cut the list in half or 70/30,...

Even if you don't live in Washington or have any family in that state it's important to fight ALL gun control bills. In every state because once established they're a cancer and will come to your state eventually. Use my letter as a guide:

Subject: Unconstitutional House & Senate Bills

Dear Officeholders and Elected Officials,

Most modern full size pistols have a standard magazine capacity of 17+1 to 19+1. A 10 or 15rd limit for a full size (large) pistol is a waste of space in the magazine. Passing a law that requires proof of purchase prior to a magazine ban would make criminals out of millions of law abiding Citizens (not to be confused with 'Subjects' - this isn't England). By limiting our ability to defend our country you're inviting a foreign invasion of America from countries like China,.. et cetera. During WW2 our government gave Eskimos in Alaska .22 caliber suppressed pistols and .30-06 Garand rifles to help protect this country from invasion of the Japanese. Because the American military couldn't be everywhere at once. If WW3 were to happen after a massive disarmament of west coast states, a successful invasion will surely follow.

Preserving a well-armed populace is essential to detering an attack on our mainland. If something happened to our military, be it a vaccine, virus, or you name it, whichever potential and unforseeable disaster might strike us in the future,.. the surviving population needs to be able to defend this country. Right now, at this point in history we aren't even close to matching our military's firepower. That wasn't the plan when this country was founded, the original intent was to have every man of fighting age armed with adequate military firearms. The modern version of a military rifle would be a full auto M-16 but unfortunately we lost our right to own machine guns so we're limited to the non-auto AR-15. We don't have machine guns, we don't have rocket launchers, no hand grenades, no helicopters, no jets, no tanks, let's keep the arms we have and not completely leave ourselves defenseless against an invasion. I don't know about you but the idea of hostile troops marching down my street killing and torturing everything both human and animal is something I want to prevent.

Gun control doesn't prevent crime, it actually discourages crime and creates a better environment to live in. So-called "Gun Free Zones" are nothing more than shooting galleries.

Sincerely,

Maybe, these emails and phone calls are having an impact.

Unlikely they wanted this much attention today. Trying to do something on a Sunday over a holiday weekend - why would someone try and do that? Most can formulate a pretty solid educated guess. Unlikely many would consider it shear coincidence. Perhaps some legislators are coming to the realization that this might jeopardize their seat in the next election.

Anybody with a pair of functional brain cells knows these bills they're proposing WILL DO NOTHING TO STOP VIOLENT CRIMINALS WHO DON"T OBEY THE LAW ANYWAY. All the empirical data supports this (one only need look at areas with the strictest gun laws - usually highest crime). Look no further than the shooting incident in Seattle a couple weeks ago.

So why are the supporting it?

Govt control/restrictions and freedom have something of a symbiotic/balance relationship - when one goes up, the other goes down. Can't really have it both ways (unless you're trying to be a politician). There is no 'staunch advocate of the 2A' -and with the thousands of laws already on the books - in the same breathe says they're also 'for reasonable gun control', meaning adding more than what already exists.

$.02 worth.

Keep on it. Call, email, share with friends, make sure folks are registered to vote, repeat.

Git 'er done.

Maybe, these emails and phone calls are having an impact.

I believe that they actually thought that we wouldn't find out. Ha ha!!!
