You were very very obviously commenting on Cate's use of caps. Ánd you used "her" in the third party when you did it, not "we" or "us". If you are going to make fun, at least do it directly at somebody and not behind their back. That is low. No matter what you say as an excuse.

You're not the first to make fun of her posts. I don't have to ask Cate because I am in regular contact via PM on TWO diff gun forums. I know how she feels when somebody here criticizes or makes fun of her posts or writing style. You also obviously don't know Caté's history with this forum or you wouldn't have done that.

Now you are informed. You might be better served by keeping that in mind and leaving Cate off the butt end of your jokes.
This is easy....adios.

I don't have time to waste with members who want to start fights.

This shooter was an USPSA shooter, but the event happened at a class not a competition. There were a number of mistakes that day based on complacency.
I've seen competitive shooters who at the end of a stage need to show clear and drop the hammer to verify that the weapon was truly unloaded before reholstering. But they get too complacent and sometimes pull the trigger on the way back to the holster. Sometimes that fires a round into their leg.
So you've seen a vid of one shooter at a class. OK, got it.

BTW I really like the vid of the guy that had one of the Sherpa holsters and shot hisslef in the butt/leg with his .45.... ouch.

I don't disagree with the scenario you posed as a possibility, But I think you missed the target with the last part of your post. ;)

Not a video, this happened to a friend of mine. I was not there but he told me about it.

For the sake of fairness and hopefully some sort of conflict resolution here on the never-ending Alec Baldwin Thread (the gift that keeps on giving it seems 😄), the first comment regarding her style of writing was not from @Longwalkhome :

why do you scream so much in every post?

Ah, I see. Then it was some azzhat I already have on ignore. And @Longwalkhome jumped on it. No prob, but he made a mistake with me by trying to defend his comment.

Well, he's put me on ignore. I like the guy but IMO he's not being responsible/accountable/honorable/reasonable/kind/understanding.

What he also doesn't know, is that I've defended him from other members that don't like HIS posts. But those convos were in PMs so at least it wasn't publicly embarrassing for HIM.

As far as not being the first to comment, I repeat:

DON'T YOU DARE PICK ON CATE!!!!

ANY OF YOU!!!!!
Cate is the kindest member I know. And she should be treated with kindness and respect, same as she gives out to others!

Why he came out and talked? If it were me, and had that big of celebrity status, I'd use it to pay off my legal team with the millions of dollars to be made off the interview and to finally speak of what actually happened first hand.
I dont know much about his real life firearm back ground. Havent looked into it and what his capabilities are.
His actor life firearm background has to be a pretty substantial list. What about handling antique iron??
Probably a hit and miss thing and needs to rely on the movie set licensed armorer to guide him through operation, and refreshers every scene it gets used.
He'll skate charges and civil lawsuits because he wasn't responsible for checking the gun for real bullets or not. Why would he check the movie gun for real bullets when the armorer had just cleared it safe to fire dummy rounds? It's clearly not an accident and someone needs to pay the piper.
Not to be a pot stirrer, but I wonder how many on here would have gave him a break right from the get go, pre Lorne Michaels and snl. Just sayin

Because it is industry standard practice according to several independent sources. According to them, EVERYBODY that handles the gun checks it. It's even written in the union guidance.

Lest we think this would be hard to check in a period firearm w/o looking down the barrel, that wouldn't do much good with dummy rounds anyway. With dummy rds, the primer is supposed to be punched. So the Pietta could easily have been last user checked by going to half cock, opening the loading gate, and rotating thru the cylinder looking for live primers. Easy peasy. But NOOOOOooooo, the GodAlmight AB is too big for that... HE relies on the peons he pays to give him a "cold" gun.

He's a plick.

And a killer.

Rehearsal first and notice in the interview the music added for drama. He is an actor.

OK -- I watched as much of that as I could hack, just looking for the pertinent facts.

His claim is that he cocked it to just before it locked in the full cock position, and then released the hammer. He also says his finger is off the trigger in the preview, maybe here but I didn't watch it all.

So, an interesting test would be the one referenced earlier, but instead of going to full cock, go past half cock and then release the hammer. Does it catch on half cock? Is the chamber aligned with the pin and barrel?

Although this is sort of academic. He had a loaded gun in his hand aimed at another person when, if we accept his bullbubblegum as true, it just went off. Anyone else would already have been arrested and faced charges.

Trigger has a spring that holds the sear against the hammer. If he pulled past half cock then let's go the hammer falls to half cock UNLESS HE PULLS THE TRIGGER and then it falls on a round if the cylinder is lined up.

There would have to be no trigger in the gun for it to fire when he let loose the hammer or the sear broken so as not to catch. Inspection will answer the question of broken gun.

Hate to say it, but CNN did a good job -- or their guest did -- explaining the gun. He even explained how the hammer will catch on the half-cock notch if the hammer is only almost pulled back to cocked and then released with finger off the trigger:

I have skipped to the beginning of the meat to minimize the amount of the CNN dude you have to watch, and mitigate any adverse psychological effects that would result:

I take no offense and people can put me on IGNORE or scan by and not READ what I write on here or on other places.

The original man in this thread who mentioned my SHOUTING - LOL, if my memory is correct on HIS or HER name and if I am wrong - please forgive ME, and some others have mentioned my writing in the PAST on here too.

They can do this easily if my posts are too LONG for them to read, they don't like HOW I write, what I have to SAY or if it OFFENDS them even if that was NEVER MY INTENT and/or if I use LARGE LETTERS in some posts.

I have almost ALWAYS written in large print to emphasis certain POINTS that I choose to make online, in email and in snail mail letters too. I mix it up especially online. Small and large print.

I have my PRINT SIZE on my computer turned on very large due to my 71 year old eyes.

I have worn bifocal lenses since I was in my 40's.

My one eye is not getting any better and years ago in my EARLY 40's - I had a very serious eye condition (It started in one eye and went to both eyes.) which if not was caught and TREATED - I could have gone blind. It was not diagnosed PROPERLY when I went to the E.R. one night with my late husband but I knew and felt that something was wrong.

I was right so I got 2 other medical - top medical opinions from 2 eye specialists. I was on DILATOR DROPS like they use for chemical warfare, etc. and on 2 other eye drops.

I had one 25 watt bulb on in the den (I slept downstairs due to NO steps and fear of falling.) and basically was resting both eyes for weeks on end. I had a FEW flare ups over the years but I keep an eye (LOL) on my eyes and have not had any since my early/middle 50's.

My late husband was a saint and my old German Shepherd dog stayed with me - by my SIDE always even when I walked to the downstairs bathroom. I had hour plus trips one way to the eye doctor's twice a week for a time frame too. I 'hired' my friend's husband to take me there so that my husband would not miss work. Her husband's company closed up and he started his own company but BOTH of them made time for my eye doctor trips. We lived in the boonies and they did too.

Plus I have worn Rx eyeglasses since I was 5 years old. In the old days with old glass - they called them coke bottle lenses. LOL

My Rx eyeglass lenses are somewhat THINNER now due to different types of Rx lenses. I still call them coke bottle lenses myself. LOL

Anyway, thanks for support or no support. Read or ignore me. NO sweat.

As far as my husband goes, he has SELECTIVE hearing as some wives JOKE about their husbands. LOL

And yes, he does have some HEARING LOSS (No joke.) even though he always used HEARING and eye protection since he was a KID and learned how to shoot.

Hey!

Thanks for this link and other links that other people put up.

On my FREE - OTA - over the air station, there is a station called COURT TV and I have seen some reports and interviews on there too.

Take care.
