Another news article.....

And then there was this jewel from the article.
"A gun had two misfires in a closed cabin," a source claimed. "They just fired loud pops — a person was just holding it in their hands and it went off."
Rrrrrright....
"....just holding it in their hands and it went off."

The Hollywood spin......guns kill people, no one needs to be pulling the trigger.

"Dam....guns are DANGEROUS just sittin' there without any manipulation."

Aloha, Mark

What's wrong with being trained prior to being able to possess a weapon capable of producing casualties with little effort? You need a driver's license don't ya
Whats wrong...?

Well if you require "training" to exercise one Right....what will stop the requirement for "training" to exercise all the other Rights we have and enjoy....?

No thank you.

If you want firearm training...then it should be your choice.
Not a directive or a requirement to obtain before exercising a Right.
Andy

Edit to add :

Training is no guarantee of less accidents or less negligence with firearms...
After all you need a drivers license...and we still have accidents and negligent driving....

That training should be available to people who WISH to get it before buying a firearm. At no cost! There ya' go dems, something more worthwhile for you to spend money on than useless traffic calming projects and orange barrels to stop high speed shootings! Yeah, yeah, I know. But it might actually have more to do with saving lives than the other stuff! Just thinking out of the box here.

Actually no you do not need a drivers license to buy a 5000 lb truck and run over people you only need one to legally drive on public roads and a drivers license it is not a right, it is a privilege but the 2A is a right and in the constitution, driving is not.

Rrrright....... because anyone wanting to practice their religion in a house of worship should be subject to a......

Mental heath check,
Fingerprinting (as in some states),
BGC and whatever associated fees.

I thought there was a passage that read "to keep and bear big block Chevy with Edelbrock..." but what they probably meant was a local armory where all the big blocks are kept until needed.

Wonder how the "entertainment industry" got around 4473's on everyone involved in the transfer of firearms?

They are not police, in the course if their duties.

They are not on a gun range.

They are not immediate family, usually & for the most part. As a generalization.

TRUE prop guns, unable to chamber nor fire a "normal" round? OK, sure no 4473 type rules should apply.

Firearms, even used as "props". Transfer rules should apply. Just like they apply to everyone else...

Seems rules are for thee...

If it was Clint Eastwood or Bruce Willis that did this, I wonder if everyone would still be calling for heads on a platter.

I hate to say this, but it COULD have just been a really unfortunate accident. All the gun handling/training posts are great but how many of you here have worked a movie set with props and so forth? Lots of actors don't know jack about guns but perform with them. I don't have strong convictions about them all being trained or whatever before stepping foot on a movie set.

I dislike Alec Baldwin very much. Ever since that phone recording where he called his daughter a little pig all the way up to his anti-Trump rhetoric. He's a pile for sure. But I'm not sure this requires him locked up for life as some have suggested.

Special Law(s) to cover the, "Movies/TV/Entertainment Industry". And they can even have and play with F/A (and other restricted fun toys) too.

Consider that......prostitution....the exchange of sex for money is illegal. However.....if the camera is rolling? It's an art film (aka: Porno Film). The people are actors and actresses and therefore, all of it is legal.

I'm in the process of moving to Tennessee where you don't need any paperwork or permission to transfer a gun between private parties. It's called freedom and a 4473 can kiss my fanny.

Guess you're in favor of them.

Cheers.

It should be done in junior high school and watch stupid crap with guns plummet.

4/10. I'd give you a higher score but it's been done quite a few times before. Mothers demanding they get some action might be interested though.
Yours must not check her DMs. Like another poster said, if this was old Clint Eastwood the tune would be different. If your chamber needs more echoing there's a little button you can press to ensure your space remains safe.

In favor of them? Hardly!

Simply pointing out the dichotomy of how rules are applied. Depending upon class, or caste. As it were.

Now, maybe such doesn't apply where filming was taking place, HOWEVER such does apply in California. Califirnia, where the preponderance of the "ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY" folks base from.

The majority of movies are made outside of Commiefornia anymore because it is too expensive to film there.

Perhaps if Mr Baldwin wasn't so anti gun he would be used to handling firearms and know the 4 rules of guns safety.

If he did, he would have known that every time you pick up a gun u check the chamber (assume all guns are always loaded unless you yourself check the chamber). That holds true even if someone tells you "it's safe". Never let the muzzle cover anything u aren't willing to destroy. Keep fingers away from trigger until on the target.

Even if his new crew screwed up (which they did) he could have prevented the accident if he simply followed the most basic rules of gun safety. Also they should have known there was a serious issue when there were three previous accidental discharges and most of the crew walks out and says work environment is unsafe.

If blank firing weapons were never intended to be pointed at another actor, John Wick would sure look a lot different.
