Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between a Polish and a Russian AK...
I picked up this really nice Lancaster Arms AK, It could be either one...

The circle 11 on the front trunion in the bottom picture indicates it is polish. Now is the parts kit matching, that I don't know but being from Lancaster, I would wager that AKMS was built from a matching Polish parts kit.
