I know that putting a conventional rifle scope on an air rifle can mess up the hairs. Is there any roblem with using a scope designed for an air rifle onto a 22 or other caliber rifle?
Should be fine, as long as the scope can handle the recoil of what you're putting it on. Rimfires are definitely no problem, and I've put air gun scopes on .223's with no issues. Probably not a good choice for a .460 Weatherby Mag, though . Later.
a scope designed to withstand the recoil of a spring air gun is more durable than a regular scope, so I don't see that putting it on even your most powerful rifles would be problematic. hell, it might be one of the best choices. maybe someone with some knowledge of the internals or engineering could chime in--in case that's laughably wrong.
