Do 30 correct burpees that include a pushup and hands over head jump for each and that's how you'll be after 30 seconds of a fight.. minus a trip to the hoosgow.

That would be the 8-count push-up and the side-straddle hop........

In cadence, EXERCISE!!

Then we have the thugs who are proficient in grappling. Once you let them get you on the ground, it's pretty much over.

This too. With the popularity of MMA it's not uncommon to find people with advanced belts in jiu-jitsu. I know of two myself and God help you of it goes to the ground, which it will.

There's no dishonor in walking or running away from a bad situation. With people all hyped up from meth and other things you don't know what you're up against. The smallest dweeb all strung out can have the strength of several men and the ability not to feel any pain. You will just wear yourself out and then lose. Then we have the thugs who are proficient in grappling. Once you let them get you on the ground, it's pretty much over. Basically, I've resolved that I'm getting too old for these bubblegum holes. 45acp says eff-off in many languages.
All the strength of a developmentally delayed chimpanzee can't be transmitted through severed tendons and ligaments.

But , no I don't look for opportunities to go Hannibal Lecter on tweakers or 5150s.

The worst part about a street fight is the type where it happens unprovoked, such as in the game called "knock out." People casually throwing a haymaker at some random person, often knocking them out or killing them, and walking away. Even some of the most aware people can be victims to this stupidity.

I have studied/ practice martial arts for a total of 18 years: traditional kung fu, wing chun, and Krav maga. Traditional kung fu was the most BS self defence art form for the modern day; designed for old horse fighting due to the "horse stance" forms. Wing chung is still practical because it is different, yet old and prepares one for direct fighting, not turning your self half-way for a fighting stance so commonly seen. It does not believe in kicking above the waist: legs fight legs and arms fight arms; difficult to explain in words but it works in practice as it does in theory. Great for fighting in confined spaces. Now, Krav maga is the icing in the fighting world! I loved going to class as it is not dependant on "forms" but practice sparring. It teaches you to use your surrounding, your clothes, your fingers, your mouth and head, your credit card - anything to be the victor, and I think it is the originator of ground fighting.

Nothing can prepare for an attack out of the blue but if you survive the first punch, Krav maga is king!

As a rule, I avoid many public places to reduce the chances of being a victim or harassed into a street fight.

I was in wrestling for 8 years and am very good at taking people to the ground - then t is all over unless opponent knows more than me. I may take a few hits getting in, but balance, flexibility and stability are my strengths. Once my opponent is off balance, he loses.

MMA started with boxers and martial arts specialists. Then came the wrestlers who cleaned up for a while until the other MMA participants started studying wrestling.

Unfortunately, I too am older and my goal has to be a quick fight.

Yeah, Matt Hughes was the original ground and pound.

Back when I WAS YOUNG DUMB AND FULL OF @#/.
got into a few bar fights or street fights.
Got put in handcuffs for a few.
AKA .
I won the fight so I got the silver bracelet award.
The other guy or others got the red light escort to the hospital.
But then I had to pay thousands of dollars.
Court cost hospital bills ambulance rides.
I would say now that I am older wiser .
And I'M NOT GOING TO FIGHT YOU !
IM GOING TO SHOOT YOU.
WALK AWAY! WALK AWAY.
PLEASE walk away .
Lol it's not worth it.

My bar-brawling brother (RIP) taught me this lesson: You cannot win a fight standing up. Take him to the ground. Make sure his head hits first. Fight over.
