With fewer than 8,000 absentee ballots left to count, Adams was ahead of the city's former sanitation chief, Kathryn Garcia, by 1 percentage point, or 8,426 votes. The only way for Garcia to win is if all remaining absentee ballots went her way plus an addition 500 or so Garcia ballots were pulled out from under a table or something. A statistical impossibility not seen since November 4th at 4AM.
