I believe too that you cannot carry on public transportation so busses and "L" trains are off limits. Not sure about the Metro rail system. Probably the same since it is considered public transit I believe.

Anyway I have to drive my mom to her eye doctor once a month and it's connected to the hospital .and I have to sit in the waiting room and then drive her home because she can't see after they give shots in her eyes .
No sign on the door at the hospital here so I sit with a Glock 19 on my hip and wait .
