The same concept works great when buying ham radios / other gear on eBay. Wait until about 20 seconds before an auction closes, the drop a bid at least 2 bid steps above yours ( if you want to pay that) and you will get it every time. Good fast connection helps out.

Not that I would ever do that. I have heard of guys doing that.

20 seconds is for sissies.... at 5 seconds drop the hammer!
When I was selling a lot of hobby stuff it was like a slot machine watching the same 2 or three guys fight hard those last few seconds to get the item/s. It's a real pity that money had to go for bills and not firearms....

Brutus Out

I don't remember seeing locks on many of my classroom doors. But if you had a minute of two you could put up quite the barricade in front of the door.
If they opened the door and made themselves visible they would be dead. Of course you have to make sure, that's the shooter :(
So many variables.
I have never been one to get buck fever, etc etc. But I bet I would wish I had my trusty FAL! Some of these guys these days are wearing vests. Your center mass shoots with your 9mm pew pew isn't going to cut it. Neck, and head shots just like deer and elk, takes them down all the time!

I suggest, as an article in Recoil (#2) says, have an optical sight: Red-dot/ Reflex and/or a Laser sight on your sub-compact carry gun.... in any campus situation you really can't "spray & pray" and hope to live. YOU NEED A "COLD-SHOT" where you HIT AND STOP THE ENEMY WITH YOUR FIRST SHOT (head-shot as said above)!!! That article showed most sub-compacts are not too big with such sights and having optics always is a BIG ADVANTAGE over an enemy!! :) Naturally you have to equip and practice this "COLD-SHOT" for the confidence to pull it off. Also, newbies are the easiest to adapt to such sights and benefit the most.... There I'd also wish I had my trusty Mini-14, even with iron sights it's easy to hit with a rifle, too bad it's impossible to conceal.
