Update: Please take action and have your friends do the same. Still up in the air: SB 700 Universal Background Checks, SB 347 K-12 prohibits gns in schools, SB 699 Prohibits open carry in public buildings, SB 796 Improved training standards for CCW.
Senate Preseident Peter Coiurtney sent the 4 bills to the Rules Committee. This may be a move to develope a compromnise and obtain a needed 16th vote to pass the bills.

Ways to help out now! 1. Call you legislator AGAIN "PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY ACTION TO REDUCE GUN VIOLENCE THIS SESSION BECAUSE THE BILLS ARE BOGUS--UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS, GUN FREE, ETC. FYI I THINK IT WAS THE DOJ OR THE FBI JUST ISSED THAT VIOLENCE GUN CRIME IS DOWN ABOUT 50% IN THE LST 20 YEARS.

2. Write a letter to the editor against all of the above.
3. Contact Peter Courtney at 503-986-1600 or his email address.

Time is short and pressure on the legislators is acute. Argue against these bills and do not be complacent. Please take action today. Ceasefire started on this last friday. Thanks. Please keep the pressure on! Thanks.

They've been there for a while. There was some noise last week that made it sound like they might come to the floor.

about 30 minutes ago. Asked them to focus on legislation to combat teen age gun violence and keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. Also, asked them to oppose all of the above bills. Ceasefire is hoping for a last minute positive vote on the above as the clock is ticking. Hopefully others will join in and oppose their effors. Thanks.
