News Release from: Oregon State PoliceLINCOLN CITY PD RELEASE - OFFICER STEVEN DODDS TO RETURN HOME APRIL 9Posted: April 4th, 2011 5:14 PM The following is a news release from Lincoln City Police Department: Chief Steven Bechard of the Lincoln City Police Department is pleased to advise that Officer Steven Dodds has been medically released to return home Saturday April 9, 2011. Officer Dodds' condition has continued to steadily improve and he is looking forward to taking this next step in his recovery. Officer Dodds was shot multiple time during a traffic stop on January 23, 2011. The suspected shooter, David Durham, has not been located. The Lincoln City Police Department and the Citizens of Lincoln City and Lincoln County are making plans to welcome him home. Chinook Winds Casino and Resort is graciously offering their limousine service to transport Officer Dodds home from Portland. Officer Dodds will be escorted into Lincoln City by his fellow officers and other emergency service vehicles at about 1:40 p.m. on April 9. At 2:00 p.m. there will be a brief public reception at the Taft High School Gymnasium in Lincoln City. After greeting the members of our community he will make a brief opportunity for media questions, after which he will be escorted home. The Lincoln City Police Department and Officer Dodds would once again like to express our sincere appreciation for the outpouring of support that has been given to Officer Dodds, his family and our agency. ### State of Oregon: Oregon State Police ###
