When CA went to 10 round mags, I had to buy a new gun to get up to 10! Capacity has never been a big deal for me.
My EDC holds 5, my other carry is a Shield 2.0 in 9mm. It has 7 and 8 round mags. I spend more time making sure I can make good hits than how much ammo I can carry. DR

The question was basically if we have to carry guns with 10 round magazines will you go up in caliber that is all. Not if you believe the media and bean counters hype around 9 vs 40.
If there is any question about my choice, I would choose the .40. As I have already said, I found little diff in the recoil and I believe the 180gr ammo I have will penetrate better than the 9mm ammo I have, especially on a heavy set target.

70% of my SIGs are both 9mm AND .40; I have slides & mags to change them out either way, and I have enough 10 rd mags to be legal when carrying in non-free locals that think (wrongly so) this will make a difference in crime.

I hadn't paid that much attention to magazine capacity and assumed my P-229 was a 10 rounder being relatively small and a single stack but nope it holds 12 rounds. So I'm down to the 40/357 Shield or 1911's for better than 9 and less than 10 rounds. I do have a Sig P-6 9mm that is an 8 rounder but at that point I may as well carry a 1911. They are about the same size and weight anyway.

I obtained a Sig P225-A1 that I think is 9 rounds - i bought in the event we have a ten rounds or less restiction someday. I have never shot it and it just sits in the safe. Fine pistol and maybe some day it will get used. I think I would rather carry my officer 1911 in 45

Uh - the P229 is a double stack mag gun and only slightly smaller than the P226.

My 365 is not pleasant, not fun, and I limit my shooting with it, but it doesn't compare to the Grendel P10 (.380) I shot years ago, which left bruises on my hand, being worse than my S&W 329 in .44 mag which leaves my hands numb. I have found that weight is the primary variable in recoil for centerfire pistols.
Have you shot the S&W .460 XVR or the S&W Model 500 ?? Almost 5 lbs of recoil absorbing mass. Or the S&W Model 350 in 350 Legend ?? It has less recoil than the big boys !! Great revolvers, Great fun !!! My personal fav is the 460 XVR !!

8 rounds standard or get sig 45 acp 10 rounder which works fine on 10mm gun. But again for me this bs law will not affect what I carry or its capacity.

I owned a 460V for a few years before I traded it off.

Yes, a heavy gun - and relatively light recoil for the power it had - lighter recoil than my 329. Fun to shoot, but not fun to carry - the opposite of the 329 and my SIG 365.

No I would not change to a larger caliber.

I would still stick with the 9mm

The reasons for this have already been given previously.
