I am horrible at swapping batteries on optics, horrible. I say I do it every even birthday, but that was a few even birthdays ago for all of them. Anyways. I finally got around to switching batteries after 4 years in most.
The PA one had lived on a gun I rarely shoot, my SBR CX4, and I took it out recently to relive some good ole times shooting a gun from the more peaceful times in my life! Lol! While out at the range the dot would not get brighter. I was getting a little annoyed thinking I finally broke the optic. Then I realized I purposefully never changed this one's battery. It took a bit of digging through old pictures to find a gun it was mounted to when I first got it. It was at least 8 years ago maybe longer. I used it a lot at first. On a 10/22. Probably a few squirrel hunts with it. It got moved around like nobody's business over the years. From ARs in various calibers, bolt actions, 22s. I even had it on a 870 for a bit. Not once did I swap the battery. Today I finally did. While I am not sure what amount of time I had it on, I know it likely wasn't the 50,000 hours they always reference, I'm still very impressed by this little guy. It's showing it's age, it is very early Holosun or closely Aimpoint sized and the glass and features where what they where back then. Things have certainly progressed! I want to say I only pain $80 for it too. I just never got rid of the thing and I always seem to find a use for it.
Anyways thought I'd share my little battery life experience with this guy.
