I'm going to say good luck on that my friend, I've been looking for a buddy as well and lowest cost I've seen is $58 a box with an average of $69 a box.
Best option I'd say is to reload it, as that will most likely be closer to the cost you're wanting. If that's the way you want to go I can help you get what you need to load 7.7x58.

Should have checked steinel. I've heard of them they basically only make ammo for weird and extinct cartridges

IMR4895 or any mid burn rate powder will work too. Plenty of 7.7x58 reloading data, .303 data can be used pretty interchangeably too.

If you actually want to be able to shoot your arisaka regularly and not just have it as a wall hanger, you'll save much more money by investing in reloading.

I've been making them that way for decades, works fine. I can't imagine paying high prices for 7.7 brass or ammo; it's such an easy round to load with reformed 30-06 brass.
