To answer my own question. Yes 6mm ARC is good!

Best group of the day. 100 yards. 10 shots, 8 in mostly one hole. 2 I likely pulled.

Savage 110 22" barrel shooting Hornady Match 108 grain ELD.

This should be an interesting project!

I'm sort of annoyed with it honestly. When you get groups like this with factory ammo, it sort of defeats the idea that I can reload better!

Nonetheless, I'll at least have one hell of a baseline. I am glad I bought a couple hundred rounds from the same lot of that Hornady ammo though!

Some people shoot varmint down in the 70-80gr range. Its such a great round and the cartridge is big enough to hold the powder. You just shooting for target?

Mostly to play around with reloading and paper punching. Once I get the 108elds loaded consistently I'll be taking it out to the woods to shoot 600-1000. Might try a PRS match.

30 grains lever revolution was the best today. Average right at about 2800 fps with a nice low single digit SV. Printed 0.373" with 5 shots. Went to 30.2, the last 2 of 30.2 punctured primers so I won't be going any higher. Hornady shows max at 30.8!

Loving a 0.3" group!

All of these were with 103 ELDx bullets. All sat to 1.712.

I was shooting my 6 ARC today also. Trying out some light 70 grain bullets I had laying around. The winning combination was a 70 grain Speer TNT hollow point with 30.0 grains of Benchmark a CCI 400 primer seated to 2.140" overall length. It printed a couple groups in the .2's at 3345 FPS! Maybe I should schwack some sage rats with it!

What are you 6mm ARC shooters doing for brass. I heard the conversion of 6.5 grendel brass to 6mm ARC can be problematic? If you have had success with that conversion, what process and dies did you use?

Johnny had success converting 7.62x39 brass over to 6mm ARC. I would like to hear from @robertvarner about his experience with converting 7.62x39 brass to 6mm ARC.

Next batch ready. Hard to find brass so I'm only 20 at a time for now! Interesting that Hornady goes all the way to 30 grains of 2520. I was noticing that it's compressed at 29.4. I seated these a bit shorter than the Leverevolution as I want to say I was likely getting pressure spikes being to close to the lands with the last set. Being compressed at 1.710 makes me wonder what Hornady was up to seating even shorter.

The savage really likes the 108 elds. It did not like the ballistic tip 90 grains.

Smallest groups had the best SDs. 30 grains of CFE223 had a deviation of 5, average speed of 2720. Minus my pulled shot, I knew it when I did it, I've printed the smallest group ever with this gun.

I was having so much fun with my heavyweight 6mm arc in the MPA chassis that I decided to build a lightweight rifle for hunting.
Built on another Zermat/Origin action with a Proof Research 22" carbon fiber pre-fit in a Mesa Precision Altitude stock. So far the most impressive loads are with CFE223 and Sierra 85 grain BTHP averaging right at .2-.3 for 3 shots at 100 yards. Speed is 2057 FPS out of the 22" barrel.

This is such a fun little round in a bolt gun!

Seems slow at 2050fps for the 85 grain pills?

I figured it might be a typo.

Still slower than I was thinking.

I'm spoiled with the bolt gun as I can push the lighter stuff even faster. I was getting the 90 grain ballistic tips to 3100. Also in a 22 inch barrel.

I was looking at the Savage 110 in it and was disappointed it only had an 18" barrel. Seems like this needs at least a 24" to be decent with the heavy stuff.

Ballistic testing showed a 20-inch barrel changed the ballistics very little, but lowered the weight considerably. Mine is an Alteris 20-in bbl, and I'm pleased with it, but I reload for it since Hornady is the only ammo manufacturer out there.

I take 7.62x39 or 6.5G brass and resize the neck to 6mm, then trim the case to specs.

With a turret scope, it's a tack driver at 400+ yards!

That's kind of a niche market already. I don't think there are others.
