I am taking my first stab at reloading tomorrow for my 6.5 Creedmoor. I will be using 143 grain Sierra HPBT with IMR 8208XBR. I am going to start low with 29.5 grains of powder. The primers I'm using are CCI LG rifle magnum. Do you guys have any recommendations either for or against this combination?

Is it listed in a manual somewhere or where did you get the load? The magnum primer IMO is not needed but won't hurt. Hodgden says the min load should be a bit higher according to their site.

Magnum is fine, reduce charge by .5gr if using Magnum and it calls for standard.

If load calls for Magnum then by all means use it.
