This is something new?

No, but it's pretty cool that the guy at Cracked seems to know a little about firearms. He's kept it simple - knows his audience, I'd imagine - but gotten his facts right. It's refreshing to see this sort of thing outside of a gun forum.

We could add that stupid story fo the "ping" from the Garand clip being so loud the Germans all hear it and then attack.

Then we can add, "simply racking a pump shotgun over and over will scare away criminals."

And let's not forget that anyone hit with a bullet anywhere on their body will be launched violently into the next room, through a wall or down the street.

Then of course any gunshot can be treated with iodine and a bandage unless it is fatal, then you have time to say a few words to the crowd before you die.

Strangely, when you shoot a few dozen people, no one arrests you, questions you, takes your gun for examination or requires statements from witnesses, it never makes the news and there are no funerals for the dead. In movies and on TV death is instant and trouble free, unless there is a lack of story line,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then you get "suspended" and either get drunk, laid or go it alone.

It totally depends on weather or not the round is sub-sonic. Super sonic out of a suppressor is loud, not near as loud as without having it, but way louder then sub-sonic.

I saw some "expert" repeating that one on the Military Channel a few weeks ago. And another guy claiming that he could penetrate hardened steel at 400m with a 9mm carbine.
