5.56 can use: 5.56 & .223
.223 Wylde can use: 5.56 & .223
.223 Rem: .223

.223 barrel isn't designed for the higher pressure that a 5.56 cartridge will put out.
Incorrect

The leade of a 5.56 is what it's not designed for. That causes the pressure spike, otherwise the barrels are the same.

Correct. The difference between Wylde and a 5.56x45 chamber is more related to the use of match ammo if one decided to.

I have an AR with the barrel marked 5.56 nato, now I know Wylde barrels are ok for 223 and 5.56,but is this barrel not designed for both, can 223 be run through it?
If you're barrel Says 5.56 you can shoot 223 in it .and if it says 223 you can't use 5.56 lots of people think there the same but there not take a 5.56 round and a 223 round and stand them on a table primer down next to each other the 5.56 is taller or longer

If the box doesn't say 223 Wylde don't use it! Anything else is dangerous and will eventually cause a catastrophic failure. :D
