Do it old school, Scottish Shetland Wool wrap and tied off with stainless safety wire, soak it in boiling hot water first, then wrap it tight and tie it off! After it cools and dries off, wrap it in a thick piece of saddle leather, again, soak it in boiling water before wrapping, only tie it off with leather lace! Let it dry and shoot till your hearts content! Will not burn, and will never come off until you want it to! For more trick, you can lace the outer base ball style, it will hold better and look purty!
Pro Tip, Cut the wool and leather just slightly under size when its wrapped! When its wet it will stretch slightly and take up the gap, as it dries it will stretch and tighten up effectively locking it to the can body! Same trick with the leather! This set up will also help dampen some of the sound and will remain cool longer!
A more modern method, Welders Nomex/Kevlar sleeves! Cut to fit and wrap a few layers, and tied with stainless safety wire! Works a trick. cover in leather or other wrap of your choosing to keep it purty and your Good!
Or, get a roll of exhaust Header wrap and put at least two turn around your can body, tie with stainless safety wire and cover in your choice! Total investment maybe less then $50 depending on where you get your stuff!
Nobody, just NOBODY uses the exclamation point like our homie, @Ura-Ki !
