Kentucky Windage - 400 yards with 9mm Pistol! Answering questions... - YouTube
Not realy any different than shooting any gun at any desired distance. Just dose not have good sights for the job. Look at the 2850yrd sights on the 1903 springfield. Most 30.06 rifles dont have sights for more than a couple hundred yards. But you can put a bullit on target as far out as it will go if you want. You are never shooting directly at anything with a gun. Your allways catching a bullit somewhere in it's arch. Artillary lugers, Browning High Powers and Broom handle mousers are a few pistols that come to mind that were set up with very long distance sights. Lugers with the same 9mm went out to 800. Is it good, moral, or smart to shoot beyond the leathal energy range of a given bullit? That's another discusion. But if you want. You can figure a bullits path. And hit someone so far away, the bullit will just slap and fall off his leather jacket.
Well I waited so I'll post a picture of YOU doing this
One correction. The video was of a XDm 4.5" 9mm, and not the forthcoming XD-S in 9mm.
I call BS. The guy admits to firing 30 or 40 rounds for 1 hit. The lessen here is that if you have enough ammo, you can probably, and statistically, expect to get lucky sooner or later.
Would I carry my 26" barrel .308 as a concealed weapon? NO!
Would I shoot 400 yards with a 9mm? NO!
He must have done that before 9mm ammo was $50 a box!
I can't spill for shat!
I propose a compromise...
I'll just leave this here because I read it the other day and thought it was interesting.
