36 REASONS WHY MEASURE 114 PASSED BY 24,972 VOTES.

Voter turnout, county by county as of 6PM on 12/7/2022 are shown below. Some of the results are pathetic. Predictably, the highest support for the measure was in the cesspool of Multnomah County, with 75% to 25% in favor. The measure led in Washington County 62% to 38% and Clackamas County at 52% to 48%. The measure led in Lane County at 54% to 46% and in Deschutes County at 51% to 50%. All liberal strongholds. But there were THIRTY TWO other counties that could have helped change the results. And for those on the Eastside who harken for "The State of Jefferson" and are always saying "The State is always controlled by the valley and we don't have any say over here on what goes on in Salem so why should I even bother to vote?", well, you had your chance and you blew it. 2,987,421 registered voters in the State and only 1,968,623 bothered to show up. 65.9%. That was 1,018,798 lost votes. That's an average of one out of every three registered voters who were apathetic enough to never bother to vote. Those non-voters should be embarrassed and ashamed. They screwed all the law abiding gun owners and the businesses that trade in the firearms industry because they were too lazy to take 15 minutes to fill out a ballot and drop it in a mail box or a ballot drop-off box.

We got screwed because of voter apathy.

Of course a lot of these non-voters might be dead or moved away, but 10's of thousands failed to do their civic duty and now you're stuck with this.

If Oregonians want change, the only way that happens is to do away with mail-in balloting and require voter id.

I have to prove who I am when I take the kid to the pediatrician, yet who knows for sure whom it is that cast the ballots…

And toss the process of "ballot/initiative measures". I doubt that some voters even knew the issue at stake. And/or the REAL consequences of their vote.

Not to mention, WHAT the US Constitution says and how it applies to all LAWS.

Seems it's too hard for some to read a document to color little circles in and mail it. Those thar complain about thier loss of rights yet won't vote deserve what they get in my opinion. It requires too much effort for some.

just because someone didn't vote doesn't mean it was a lost vote for our cause!
True. However a non-vote is almost the equivalent to a "yes" vote for such a bad measure. And while hundreds of thousands (notwithstanding the dead or those who have moved out of state) of voters that failed to do their civic duties, they could have made the difference.

Other than the Oregon "My Vote", which only tells you if your ballot was received, is there a way to tell if your vote actually got applied toward a measure/candidate?

Say they didn't think you filled out the bubble adequately on one item and didn't count it…how could you find that out?

Seems to me they shouldn't know. Otherwise it wouldn't be a secret ballot. There's no way I know of that they could ID your ballot once it is removed from the mailing envelope.

Oregons "My Vote" website will give your voting status and whether your ballot was received. It does not give you details of your vote.
