.308, 30-30, or 12ga

30-30 is out. Shotgun has definate and immediate advantages. I could obtain the mossberg and a large amount of ammo for the same price as the .308 and that is before the scope. Still not as easy a decision as it should be. This will be my only firearm purchase this year so practicality and maximum impact on my readiness level should be paramount. That said, the 308 still calls to me. I definately appreciate all the opinions and the thanks. Both would serve as a vital tool to my overall plan of what I eventually want to have.
