No I do not, but it makes a louder noise
I prefer it's [.44 mag] sectional density over the .22 there is something to consider when a half inch hole is produced going in BUT I would never consider ether cartridge my first choice to hunt large game. Although I would not consider camping in any wilderness area without at least a .44 mag in the camp. Put a few holes in him and hope he just goes away.

Why the 26 inch barrel?

Because the OP says that he wants to shoot at 700 to 1,000 yards. If people are going to shoot at such max ranges, they should do everything to max their performance too. And a 26 inch barrel would be preferable if using slower burning powders like H1000

Our Navy Seals use a rifle with a 26.5 inch barrel:

Hopefully the OP is just planning to shoot targets at long range, and is not planning to hunt any big game at those extreme ranges.

You Sir are 100% correct, at long range more weight and a longer barrel are a distinct advantage as is a quality optic or three.

That's it pretty much. It's going to be a long range gun. I may bring it with me while glassing a ridge line whilst hunting just in case.

The gun is in jail in my safe though right now until I can afford the scope.
