Today was probably the best day so far for shooting for us. We purchaces a few guns that we go at a really decent price. Two of them are for resale to finance our new Hornady progressive press and we will have $300 maybe $350 left over for bullets, powder, primers.
The other half hit decent at the Angle of the Winds Casino and she gave me $100. On the way back from buying the three guns we helped move a shed from one yard to another yard. We took a section of fence out. We got a $100 tip for helping out. So that is $200 more for reloading.
After we sell two of the guns we bough the third gun Remington 788 in 223 will be a free gun.
We took it out to shoot late today and I love it.
It needs a new scope.
There wasn't to many shotgun hulls up at the Darrington pit today. I picked up a five gallon bucket full ans a three gallon bucket full and it looks nice there.
I will edit pucs on here tomorrow. We left up there at 9.30 pm.

Our little clean up.

I took my grandson shooting yesterday, spent the night uo in the woods and cleaned up a good size bag of garbage from the fire pit area we slept at.
There was a lot of beer cans, beer bottles, food wrappers, a lot of diapers and other gross stufg.

We got it cleaned up then got our fire going.

We used about half of the wood we collected and left the unused cut & split wood for the next guy.

I'm heading WAY back into the Olympics next weekend, Saturday morning though the following Tuesday morning. Up the Duckabush River Valley and beyond.

This lockdown crap is getting on my nerves. My Nissan hardbody truck was already in excellent shape and I've fixed and cleaned about everything possible on it over the last two months. Even pulled the instrument panel and switched out the indicator lights for LED's in Cool White. Changed the oil again even though I only put a thousand miles on it since the last time LOL.

Running out of things to do around the house. Time for a camping trip. I don't exactly rough it these days though. I have a small generator that I set up about 200 feet from the campsite (using extension cords hooked to a surge suppressed power strip at the campsite) so you can't hear it...and then run a TV, DVD player, stereo, lights, whatever from it. I even bring a video game system. What the heck. You have to have SOMETHING to do at night. Harder to shoot after dark. :D Covid-19? There has to be people around for you to catch it. No people where I go.

You have the camping thing down. Nice set up. When i take my grandson out for a overnight we sleep in the back of my little ranger pickup. I made a platform even with the inner fenders so the back of the truck is all level, five furniture pads two pillows and we call it good.

I like your shower/out house.

Good plan on the camping setup. With all the work on the truck and prep, I agree, it's time to bug out for a while. Wish I could join you! Sounds like a great adventure! Enjoy!

I took Mason out to the darrington pit last Sunday for the day. A Friend from Sedro-Wolly came down to shoot for about 5 hours.
I bought some clay pigeons and mason had his first day of trap shooting. He did good for his age and first time shooting moveing targets.

I did pick up some steel rifle & pistol cases and all of the shotgun hulls in the upper pit.

Is there any activity in Clark county with clean up activities. I know of some spots that need help......
The only activity is those we make on our own. I did one last weekend in the Yacolt Burn. So much trash up there I barely made a little dent but hoping some others will go up and put another dent or two in it. Best if we can get 3-5 people together to go do it and share the cost of disposal.

If you go out and clean up an area, let me know where it was and post pics! I'll send an email to the forest agency to let them know of your efforts. They really appreciate hearing that shooters are being responsible!

The spot I go is unfortunately a motorcycle riding area and a "party on weekends" spot. The problems are all three groups using it are trashing it. The worst is the party people. They burn furniture and pallets and have huge bonfires right where a shooter would park a vehicle. The amount of nails is in the millions now. Impossible to clean up all of it. So now we park a ways away and walk over to out shooting position. The shooters leave hundreds of shotgun shells and boxes. I've raked up the shotgun shells a few times but it's like picking up garbage on a beach. It just floats in again later. This year was the worst for burning furniture. It seems everyone thinks after they burn their couch or tires it's all gone. Well it's not. There's springs and thousands of nails and a framework left over. Someone has been an angel and hauled off major items and helped clean it up a few times and I would like to thank whoever that is that's helping me. I've used a magnet on a stick to pick up nails once but after seeing what happened about a month ago it would take many hours or days to clean up that spot now. I'm afraid if we can't keep up with it the state will shut that spot down.

We made our first 2021 trip up to the Darrington pit today. I took my grandson and meet two friends up there for a day of shooting.

There wasn't to many shotgun hulls on the ground in the lower pit. We picked up most of themn about seven gallons of them.
We shot up and picked up fifteen pounds of brass today.
We left the house a little after 8am and got home just before 5pm.

Nice relaxing day with friends and grandson.

@HighlandLofts , I always enjoy reading about your trips with your grandson and your continued care for your place to shoot. He will definitely have fond memories of his grandpa.

Thank you for the compliment and taking the time to read about our time together.
We have our three grandkids that live with us 24/7/365. Madson 9, Sis 8 and little Sis 2 so I get to do a lot with Mason being semi-retired.
This ssys it all,
