.223 Subsonic ???

Here's some guys dickin around with Red Dot.. it was the first hit using "red dot powder .223 subsonic" search.
I've used Red Dot in 30-06 for decades.. it's NOT position sensitive meaning fillers such as dacron etc. are not necessary.

223 & Blue Dot - 24hourcampfire I shot some blue dot yesterday. 5gr under a 34gr nosler fbhp. It's running at about .22 LR velocity and it isn't as loud as a .22LR. There is one sub-sonic load in this data but this will give you something to play with if you care to.

Seems as mentioned, a .22LR would get you close to the same thing for a lot less $$. Also, the 300 BLK will give you a lot more punch subsonic than the .22lr or .223?

Zactly. Decades ago, a company whose name I forget made 22LR chamber adapters. Used to see them in the Shotgun News and other publications.

These were in the form of chambered and rifled snap caps. Don't remember how they handled the firing pin, but any .224 bore could use them, and they were cartridge specific. Isn't CMMG mostly AR stuff?

Here's a thought, it eliminates the need for yet another rifle. Also it might be fun to cast your own for that caliber the low velocity would make it super easy with straight range scrap and powder coating. You could still take the kids out plinking during the next shortage. And the next...
