Nearly half of state AG’s back NRA gun law challenge

A National Rifle Association challenge to a federal gun law restricting handgun sales to people over age 21 has garnered support from 22 state attorneys general, various news agencies are reporting today and yesterday, but Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson is apparently not among them.

Remember all those 18-, but not yet 21 year olds, who can vote and sign contracts to join the military (but not legally drink so much as a beer, even after a combat action...)? Many states still allow an 18 year old to own a pistol, but due to federal law, they can only get them through private sales or gifting.

A (probably intended) consequence: Remember that push congress had over "Univ. Background" Checks, which would have likely pushed all legal sales into the hands of FFLs, who can't sell to anyone under 21? Now you know what wasn't being said.

They want to raise the minimum age for handgun possession to 21, without telling the 18-20 year old voters what they are doing.

Didn't see Oregon on that list either!! When are people going to "Get It" that the lawless don't follow the law and trying to justify new gun restrictions with the argument that it will mean less crime is absolutely insane.

Are you really surprised our AG is absent from the list?
