What all exactly does this kit contain? can it be swapped out easily?

All you have to do is: Push out the rear "Take Down" pin, Pull out the Bolt Carrier Group
and slide in the .22 Adaptor in place of the bolt carrier group, close the rifle, push in the
Take Down pin, insert a magazine and you're ready to go.

The Kit contains: The Adaptor and 1 BLack Dog Machine 27 round magazine.

It's still available and I'm near Anacortes

I've never had a FTF with it, but I only load 25rnds.

The magazine has the bolt hold open follower.
Now this is not the newer "Bolt Hold" feature.
That is an extra piece that inserts under the upper.
