It's all about increasing power & control. If the "crime" gets "bad"" enough, wait for possible obscene attempts at constitutional over-reach.

If you want the same results....do as you always have done...
If you want something different...then you gotta do something different.

Granted....that many if not most gun control measures boil down more to control and not safety...so there is that.

If you want safety you gotta work at it...laws , bans , restrictions , etc...won't give you safety.
If anything...those very laws , bans , restrictions , etc...will deprive you of a effective means of providing safety.

Same for de-funding law enforcement...
Change and improvement takes both time and money...if you de-fund law enforcement...there will be no change or improvement.

Again...as pointed out in the above posts and by many others....
Both de-funding law enforcement and gun control are more about control and less about safety or improvement.
