Yeah, I was wondering how I was going to get the extra funds for a license and tag applications this year. Surprise! Dad got me a gift cert for them. What a relief, I didn't want to take out a second mortgage for those.

Supposedly, hunting and fishing fees pay for over half of WA DFWL budget each year.

Because of that POS Inslee, they increase the license fees and then want to reduce production giving us less opprotunity at a higher price.

They proposed the following:
Reduce fall Chinook salmon production by 56% at the George Adams Hatchery,
Reduce chum, fall Chinook, and pink salmon production at the Hoodsport Salmon Hatchery,
Close Minter Creek Hatchery,
Reduce Shellfish Fisheries,
Close Naselle Hatchery,
Close Nemah Hatchery and
Close Samish Hatchery.

I am far too poor to hunt and fish for sport, but I wanted to mention the Resident Disabled Veterans License.

I would encourage Veterans, who qualify, to obtain a free Hunting, Fishing and Shellfish License. It comes with an Annual Wildlife Area Parking Pass. Tags, Stamps, etc are not covered.

Resident Disabled Veterans License

To get a resident disabled veterans license you must be an Oregon resident for at least six months immediately prior to applying for this license and that you have a disability rating of at least 25 percent. See application below for more information.

Mail or fax the Veteran's Application (pdf) to ODFW Headquarters or visit ODFW headquarters.

Get my license through "Resident Disabled Veterans License". Do have to pay the $26.50 combined. No complaints here. Oregon is very generous to it's veterans compare to the majority of the other States.

They don't get it, if you're buying at Freddy's. The do if it's Fisherman's, Sportsman's etc.

Really cheeses me off that the prices keep getting higher while native fish society (NFS) has got 'em by the nads and they cut hatchery production on the Sandy/Clack. Gill nets are still in the main stem Columbia. And gillnets are getting a bunch of hatchery springers that they took from the Willamette and moved to Young's Bay. Don't forget, I believe boat tags going up in 2016 too.

I need more than a KISS I tell ya'. She'd better be real good lookin' too!

Sportsmen just get in the way of the bureaucracy. They would like nothing better than to drive all the license purchasers to the sidelines. They could then get all their funding through the public tit and they wouldn't have to even pretend to manage the resource . . .
