The Revolutionary War Veterans Association is a nationwide, 501c3 non profit, non partisan all volunteer organization dedication to teaching the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and early American history. Specifically the events of April 19th, 1775 and the start of the American Revolutionary War.

Most of our events are done over 2 days and shot on a 25m range with .22lr using scaled targets that represent a 20" target at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. By the end of the weekend you will be taught:
* the 6 steps to firing a shot
* how to use a sling as a marksmanship aid
* what the Steady Hold Factors are for field position shooting (Standing, Sitting, Kneeling and Prone)
* how to use your Natural Point Of Aim
* how to zero your rifle using Inches Minutes and Clicks
and more.

We teach to a 4 Minute Of Angle standard. If you can hit a 1" square at 25m (4MOA) you can hit a 20" target at 500m (4MOA). The fundamentals are the same no matter what distance you are shooting at.

Throughout the weekend we tell the story of April 19th, 1775. We talk about the men and women who stood up to the king and founded our nation on a principle of Liberty.

We are non profit but there are expenses such as instructor travel reimbursement, insurance, promotional materials, targets and supplies. Our nominal rates this year were $80 for men, $40 for women and $20 for youth. In 2014 we are no longer differentiating between men and women shooters. It is now a flat rate of $60 per adult and $20 for youth.

Project Appleseed is in every state and there is an event somewhere in the US every weekend. The best place to find NW events is here: NW Region 2014 Schedule although I do tend to start threads in the Strategies Tactics and Training section here on NWFA. You can also 'like' us on Northwest Region Project Appleseed to get event information on Facebook.

If Appleseed is Rifle Marksmanship 101 a Known Distance event is Rifle Marksmanship 201. KD events are typically all center fire and we will shoot actual distances 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. These events are somewhat rare. The closest KD's have been in Coeur d'Alene, ID or Vale, OR and typically are only once a year. This year I have been approved to run a KD event at Douglas Ridge Rifle Club in Eagle Creek, OR on Feb 15 & 16.
