Homeowner opens fire at fleeing burglary suspect's pickup | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News Would-be burglars flee as woman brandishes gun | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News
This just goes to show you that people in this country are tired of being victims. This should be a notice to would be burglar, break into someone's home and get shot.
As a commenter commented on the second story. The headline used the word BRANDISHES which seems to be another attempt at sensationalism. Why not just say DISPLAYS GUN, which is what she did.
All you armed and dangerous washingtonians are gonna scare them down here to oregon, now we're gonna have to do your job and shoot em..At least shoot some of them for criminy sakes .. Those that shoot burglers should get to keep the spoils like their trucks and money.Hey just sayin..
Mounted heads.why not,....I can see the den wall now.Yup that one was from 98' and that there tire iron he used is from a 57' chevy.
I love hearing these stories. I it sad that some people feel they have to break in to some one else's home, but great when the news reports on all the home owners defending themselves. ^_^
Don't like the term "brandish". It has no business in WA...it is called "display with intent to intimidate"...however, while you are in your abode, you are exempt from RCW 9.41.050, so there was not even any "display"
Home invasions are still very, very rare. Not saying you shouldn't be prepared for every possibility but the odds of being a victim of it are almost non-existent. Local news loves stories like this with the same theme - you should be scared, and here is how the police/gov are trying to save you. Bleech, over and over again. Just watch tonight's news, awful. Of course 'now' things are not the same as they will be after the economic collapse, etc - conditions and rules are dynamic. There may come a time when home invasions are as common as your weekly garbage pickup.
Hit the wrong house and the weekly garbage pick up could involve hauling a body along with the pizza boxes and toilet paper rolls to the landfill.
The point I was trying to make was the Washington state Law RCW 9.41.270 uses the words "display with intent to intimidate". Brandish does not ocure in Washington state law, so use the terms our law uses if you are going to report something.
The guy that shot at the suspects pick up as he was fleeing could be in serious trouble. The threat had ended and he fired anyway.
Hopefully we will come back here 1 year from now and say the same thing. I don't believe that to be true though. I think this is true to the point,no maybe involved
Well if they are wearing a hoodie don't shoot this country can't take another situation like that. Sad to convict someone in the media.
