Yes I have used OC on several and even that made me feel bad. It's not the damn dogs fault, it's the idiot who owns it. Wife bought me a body cam over a decade ago for just this reason. She was scared one time when I came home and Animal Control and Police had been to the house. I told her it was only because I was swearing out a complaint against another dog owner. Owner got real upset that I told him I would control his loose dog for him and he wanted to make it a fight. A$$hats with dogs like that always seem to blame everyone else for the problems their dogs cause.

My wife has been there twice with the same neighborhood Rottie. Tho she has CC, she hardly ever carries unless we are traveling. Anyway, they lost in court both times. The 3rd time their beautiful dog would have been put down by Animal Control. But there was no shortage of them cussing us.

Exactly. Had one neighbor who got fined multiple times that I know of over his damn dog. He of course hated us. His excuse each time was his neighbor would not fix his fence. He looked dumbfounded the one time when I told him you're neighbor does not own a dog. That means it's not your neighbors job to make sure the fence between your house and his will hold YOUR dog in.

One killed, 5 hospitalized in San Antonio mall robbery 'gone really, really bad' One killed, 5 hospitalized in San Antonio mall robbery 'gone really, really bad'

So sad that one good samaritan was killed.
Thankfully another had a concealed handgun and shot one of the suspects.
From article;
<The other suspect managed to escape the mall, firing at bystanders as he went. Police said later Sunday that the second suspect was arrested.>
This is what I have been talking about. The one dobad started shooting randomly at bystanders. FAR better to let him run off with the loot. Very slim chance he would have been out long before police arrested him. They were DAMN lucky he didn't manage to kill a few people in the crowd.

It is very hard to make a call on this one with the very small amount of details available. Unless the chief has facts that cc did intervene without cause, he should not comment the way he did. If I'm in any store including bi-mart:D and armed robber displays a gun, I already feel my life is threatened. You just never know what someone like this will do:confused:. I hope the cc was right in his judgement to use his gun in self defense for the sake of all of us gun owners.

2 bystanders tried to intervene in a jewelry store robbery in a San Antonio mall - the first was unarmed and was shot and killed by the robbers, the second, a concealed carry holder, engaged them and shot one of the two robbers, the second got away.

Not sure what to make of this one. It doesn't sound like the CC holder was in any danger until he decided to engage the robbers, so I'm not sure if I would agree that was an appropriate use of a concealed handgun. Maybe he was trying to save the other guy's life? It isn't clear from the available info just yet.

The police are already indicating they are putting blame on both bystanders for intervening and making things go from bad to worse - no doubt the anti's will jump on this one to try and make the case that private citizens shouldn't carry. Personally, unless someone's life is in immediate danger, I don't see the reason for a private citizen to try and engage robbers like these - it's just stuff, insured stuff, let them go and let the cops track them down - jewelry isn't worth losing your life over.

Here are two articles on this:

1 dead, 6 injured in San Antonio mall shooting

I think once it became an active shooter scenario things change. Even if armed I'm still trying to find cover.

Our ex neighbor had 3 rotts. 1 was a good dog 2 were out off control. One had bit my brother's leg when he went to visit and another time they surrounded my daughter on her quad when she killed it out riding. We turned him into animal control. He came up running his mouth about living in the country and how dogs can run free. I told him I was going to walk down the road in front of his house and out a bullet in every dogs head that came to greet me. He ran his mouth some more and I politely asked him to step outside and to keep running is mouth. He decided it was best to leave and watched his dogs much closer.
Also these dogs had attacked one of our pound adoptions on our property that required many stitches on her belly. Before my daughter was surrounded.

People need to be aware of there surroundings! Situational awareness is critical if you get caught in a situation like this. What if you feel threatened but don't have a clean line of sight to the shooter? You don't want to put more lives at risk.

What worries me is that I often catch myself without situational awareness - it's amazing how easy it is to get distracted and lose a true awareness of your surroundings. I am constantly working to remind myself of this, but it's a never-ending battle.

As for engaging a bad guy, I reserve that for the immediate defense of my life, the life of my family/friends and possibly and innocent bystander. In the end, I want my choice to allow me to go home to my family, and hopefully keep the bad guy from doing any more bad, without my action potentially harming someone else. I would rather leave stopping bad guys to the police, but again, my exception is to a direct/imminent threat to myself or others in my immediate vicinity.

Most Rotties I've been around were super territorial. They cannot be allowed to expand their territory. One of my friends raised Rotts, had 3 that roamed outside his acreage as guards. We went to visit and he warned us not to get out of our car til he came out to escort us. o_O

Not blaming any breed. I now have a Staffashire looks like a Pit Bull. I know my dog and keep him on a tight leash. He's really mellowed in in older years. Not such an a$$. But I love him to death.

The good guy that did the shooting, did he shoot after the other good guy got shot? If so he'll be fine if he says his life was threatened and he was just observing till the guy got killed.
I'm sure it will all be on camera.
If I'm in a city, like pugetropolis,in a mall:eek:,then I will have my sidearm as close to ready as possible. This time of year in a pocket,in my hand. If a robbery starts up it may then be to my side. Never had a gun pointed at me but I'd probably start getting pissed and would want to shoot someone.
But if it's just some guys stealing stuff and not hurting anyone, yeah let them go.
Let the store get their money's worth out of their insurance.

This was what happened here many years ago. Some kook kid shot up one of the malls here. Only real injury was some guy who tried to be a hero. CPL holder saw him, had his gun out, could not bring himself to fire as it was a "kid" in his words. So he holstered his gun and tried to disarm the kid by telling him to give him the gun. Kid gave him the bullets instead. Amazing he lived. He soon changed his story after he realized he looked like an idiot. He had cover, if he could not make the shot FINE. Stay in cover and wait.

That was the knife shop manager wasn't it? At the Tacoma mall?
