My daughter bought this truck a year ago. She drove it for maybe 6 months before she let me know the transmission was having issues. Turns out it had grenaded… We found a used one from a salvage yard, and a very long story short… the truck only moves in reverse. The engine runs great. 4.9l strait 6 with about 148,000 miles on it. Fairly new tires, new front brakes. Dual tanks with manual door locks and windows. A couple tears in the bench seat and no radio. Everything else except the transmission works as it should… It has an E4OD transmission from a 1992 Ford E150 in it now. The "new" transmission supposedly has 68,000 miles on it. We had to convert the shift linkage from cable to bar but other than that everything Is supposed to be plug and play. I've drained the fluid and dropped the pan 3 or 4 times now trying to figure out the issue. I've even tried swapping out a couple of the valve bodies and the solenoid pack. She paid around $3,000 for the truck, and she has over $2000 into the repair that didn't work. At this point she's just trying to recover some of the money.
