For sale is a great - excellent condition vintage Colt SP1 from 1976 that was in service for the State of Louisiana at Angola Prison.
For those of you who don't know, the former plantation turned prison is known as the "Alcatraz of the South" and is to date the largest prison in the U.S. by population.
Per a letter from the state of Louisiana, the rifle was in service from 1976 to 2017. Served in the guard tower there, carried mostly, fired very little. Bore rating a 8.5-9/10. Has some wear and rack marks on exterior.
Carried often, fired maybe a handful of times. Original M16 Vietnam-era furniture.
Picked up at auction. Appraised for ~$3500 - $4000. I feel I would like to start in the middle...
