This is for a friend of mine and it's his rifle. He's looking to trade this for a good carry 9mm pistol or an AR 15. Will add a little cash for the right trade. I should mention it has been sporterized. Has a Timney trigger and a clean crisp bore and an adjustable cheek rest.

There's no Noveske parts, I just could not find Mosin, so I just let it be what ever. Scope is a 6X Bushnell. Nothing special but it works. Cash value $500

I agree. It hurts to see it this way, even though it was sporterized professionally. Unfortunately in the past many surplus rifles got such fate.

Yes it's quite professionally done. Beautiful job. How does it shoot. I have four mosins myself but they're all original and all not particularly accurate in my opinion. The bore on three of mine all measure .314 and one measures .3125 I have an SKS that also measures .314 so I'm guessing it was intentional to cut them that large routinely.

Not sure how it shoots or what the bore diameter is but the condition of the bore inside looks excellent. I thought the 7.62x54 is .310 or .311 but I guess as you mention, they can come larger at times

In those days surplus rifles were abundant and almost disposable. Nobody saw a reason to preserve them as historical. Just order it to your door for $10 and practice your gun smithing.
