Picked this thing up because it was the color tag sale at 50% off... final price; $37.50
1 of 50,000 Singer 15s made on November 20th, 1953 according to the Serial database on ISMAC site... buttery smooth and very well maintained. Only missing bobbin case, and the original storage stool that the cabinet came with.. I might go back to that thrift store during this week to see if I can find that stool. I have a couple spare Singer 15-91 bobbin cases for this one so I should be well set. The other Singer 15-91 I have will eventually be converted to a hand crank for SHTF/mobile repair sewing machine. (That's gonna be interesting ya know..) the cabinet itself is the Number 65 Cabinet from Singer, usually comes with a back-less stool with a storage tray underneath the cushion; available from the 1940s to 1950s for most Singer flat bed machines of the same size. Milliard's Sewing restoration site lists restored versions of this cabinet for $260+ shipping without the machines
The cabinet and flat bed machine will live in the dining room where I can also watch the kids when the wife is asleep in the bedroom that has the Singer 31-20 Industrial machine. This machine does not need tuning up, just cleaning and oiling... amazingly well maintained for being 69 years old
