I am selling this for a friend of mine. It is in good condition and as far as I can tell it is all original. It was manufactured in 1943. I am not a P38 specialist, so hopefully the pictures will answer most questions. If you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to get the answers to you.

Unfortunately we don't know that for sure. He got it from his dad who has since passed. I don't know if it helps, but the logo on the right side of the gun that is hard to see is an eagle on top of a swastika.
 
I see no import marks so IMHO it is a bring back or at least brought back prior to them,the U.S.putting import marks on them...it is in great shape and if I bought othr stuff I would snatch this up asap........it also has the black grips,not the brown grips...fwiw
