I was wondering about the finish also. I have not seen a good condition 192x Winchester 94 and all those I come across have original bluing over80% rubbed off and are pretty much silver rifles (which is also part of the old appeal). i.e. I don't know what a 90% original blue would look like. Would it be a much darker blue/grey? i.e. how confident is your assessment that it is refinished?I think it would be fair to recognize that '98% blueing' is kinda misleading. Not only has this been refinished, but there are extra holes drilled into the side of the receiver that have been plugged back up.
Nice gun, and the pricing isn't something I'd argue, but the condition should be stated accurately.
Yes it has been refinished and I'm not sure what kind of rear sight it had my grandfather was not happy when he got it from his dad but he did get it some very talented help to get it back to as original as he could in the mid 70s and it has been babies ever fince ... it's not even been in the same room as any 30-30 rds until I happened upon a box the other day and I still have not shot it. Believe me I want to but the gun hasn't even been fired one time since being restoredI was wondering about the finish also.
