    Here is my current family of 1911's.

    From center left and moving cw in the first photo:

    1991 Colt in .38 Super with a 9mm Kart barrel also fit. All smith work done by me except blue
    Parts gun in .45 built on Foster frame with military slide, Colt barrel and parts from my bin all my work
    S70 re-issue with work by me and Miller Custom A retirement gift from me when I left active duty
    Kimber series I, Brown safeties and C&S guts work by me
    Stainles Bobtail on Remsport frame/slide, ground up build by me
    Para 1640, trigger work and grip safety by me
    Ti .38 Super/9mm on Caspian frame and slide all work by me

    My Rock Island Armory after a range day. Nice shooting gun.

    The Remington R1, more like the Army issue 1911A1 I used to carry, except it doesn't rattle when you shake it. Also a nice shooter.

    Lots of very nice 1911s, but that one with the Damascus slide posted by 45 for me is just breath taking. Okay, I'm a sucker for Damascus steel.

    1911s are like Lay's Potato Chips, you can't have just one.
