Wouldn't a used barrel be factory fitted to the slide it was mated to and then have to be refitted to your slide?

The barrel lug engagement is a primary concern to me when installing a barrel. I'm not anywhere good enough to evaluate the barrel lugs to slide fit and timing, let alone fit one to proper specs.
I just hand it over to my gunsmith and then I don't have to worry about it.
