185gr slugs in a Stoeger/Beretta Cougar .45ACP

I am about to load up 250 rds of Berry's 185gr Premium Plated bullets for my sons Stoeger Cougar 8045F. He's in Southern CA in the Navy and we are going to visit next month.

As a result I can't make up some test loads and find out what works with that weight slug in his pistol (since it is a completely unique design with the rotating barrel lock 1911 advise is worthless)

So I ask has anyone loaded these slugs for this pistol?

I'm going to be using Clays and Unique powders and CCI primers.

I'm planning on holding as close to factory loads as I can. But since he hasn't shot any factory 185gr loads I'm going to be winging it.

I have reloaded a few 185 Berry's. I am short on time right now to tell you everything but check out the thread a few down titled "45acp reload question". Shot through a Bersa and a Springfield.
I hope it helps a little and I'll check back later when I have more time.

I use Rainer plated 185's a lot.
7.5 gr. of Unique seems to be about my best load with Remington primers.

going through a similar issue. check the thread in this section under 200 grain LSWC with 5.1 grains of red dot.
