14.5 1/8 twist match stainless steel upper AR question

Recently bought a my first AR 14.5 barrel with a flash hider to make 16 inch it has a LMT stainless steel match upper with 1/8 twist bought mostly for HD i would like to know if you guys think i could also double it has a mid range (150-300 yards) varment gun too? i plan on free floating the barrel once i can get the funds together or should I stop being a cheapskate and buy a varment upper instead? Thanks guys
