It's not just the "leaders"
They got voted in.

The people have the power to change this, but yet they continue voting for them over and over.
People cry and wring their hands about it all then, vote the same way again.
There it is again....The only decent person that wasn't elected was Knute Buehler. And the brown only won by 1.5%. And that may very well have been different if all repubs would have voted for him. Any of the others the best of the worst was elected. In other words, tod whalen was the best of the group of even WORSE candidates for mayor. You can only vote for who is on the ticket. A write in candidate would never succeed here.

Once again this is simply not true at the local government level in Portland. The choice was between wheeler and an ultra radical left wing self-admitted member of antifa who promoted violence and chaos. Would u rather people had voted for the antifa violence lady?

City Council members are voted in and have a large part in this idiocy also.

It's pretty sad that the current mayor is at least better than the previous one who liked to make out with teenage boys in the rest room of City Hall.

Life is indeed stranger than fiction.

Portland is the only place where a minor could enjoy a Sam Adams.

BUT.....the "EXPERTS" think they know why.
"Experts" from the article...corrected for accuracy:

Why is this happening?
Experts say the answer is simple, and historians who study crime say we've likely been here before.
MORE PEOPLE (complete scum, dirtbag criminals who won't be caught because of politicians tying the hands of police) CARRYING GUNS
"The real bottom line, which isn't rocket science, is that too many people (criminals who are not prosecuted by Soros elected DA's and when convicted are let you waaaay too early) are too quick to pick up guns (stolen or purchased on the street from other criminals with no BGC) to solve their disputes," said professor James Densley, who chairs the School of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at Metropolitan State University (and who has likely never ridden in a police car or had to deal with criminals in their natural environment).

There, fixed it for them. I should be a journalist.

Because they vote party, not individual. An intelligent mind, taking the party out of the equation, would surely oust these encumbants out of office. They've all proven to be useless. It's the lesser of two evils syndrome….

I believe you really mean this:

Liberals are indeed stranger than fiction.

Tough audience huh? :s0112:

"City Council" Has anybody read the submissions from the candidates in a voter pamphlet in potland? They're all cut from pretty much the same cloth. If there wasn't a large number of whack-a-doodles THAT VOTE in potland. And probably a pretty good number of not-give-a-shats that DON'T VOTE at all! we might not be where we are.

But, Uncle Ted has a plan:

And

Sounds like 19 shootings this weekend fwiw.

Saturday morning, around 2:45 a.m., officers heard gunfire near Southwest 5th Avenue and Southwest Harvey Milk Street.

Gunshots, Harvey Milk St, MLK Blvd, oh the irony.

Punk with a gun checking doors and looking in windows near here. Posted on neighbors app. Didn't appear to be druggy. Looked right at camera recording him.

FYI it sounds like this guy is running against Hardesty and needs 50 donations by Friday to be in the primary. I'm not trying to advocate any individual and I don't know him, but I will advocate pretty much any individual (or heck any animal mineral or vegetable for that matter) that runs against Hardesty (as long as they aren't a radical etc). We have to do something to stop this crime here. This is a post from next door:
