At the moment no, but how different would it be say, against flash bangs and smoke/CS/tear gas? I understand that officially, unless LEO, use of such devices(including beanbag/rubber/baton rounds) from larger than .50 cal weapons against personnel falls into the "destructive device" category by the ATF and is a Fed Felony with steep sentencing.. however this is not to say that it wont happen, we know there has been cases of gang members impersonating SWAT officers in order to carry out illegal acts, as well as cases where legit SWAT teams have been sent to the wrong addresses and ended badlyBut the lessons learned could help in other scenarios if trying to secure a homestead against armed intrusion. Note the Rhodesian homesteaders were securing there homes against RPG and grenade attacks...is that a concern of ours ATM? No.
Also, is it hard to imagine that the Cartels would be able to traffick illegal weaponry on the South border and for them to use against American citizens?
Lets not forget how easy it seems to be to produce improvised illegal explosive devices.. and it would be wise to secure ones homestead from such potential threats.
